Pratiti – Towards Gender-Based Violence Prevention
Pratiti aims to deliver short-, medium- and long-term responses to gender-based violence by using multiple forms of engagement with urban youth and subsequently inspiring them to take a self-to-society journey. The project design involves scaling up of various inter-linked components which have previously been piloted in several communities in and around Delhi. These components include the conducting of gender awareness programs, aimed at reaching out to 100 youth; holding of sensitisation workshops that will reach out to over 3000 school children, and subsequently train 200 peer-leaders; and implementation of the mobile based Pukar technology in five police disctricts. These concrete steps work towards serving the ultimate goals of individual, collective and institutional empowerment. The project aims to contribute to long-term reduction in incidences of gender-based violence through a mutli-faceted youth-led program that involves advocacy, engagement and use of modern technology.Project Co-ordinator: Aditya GuptaLocation: Delhi
